Employment is projected to grow by 8.4 million jobs from 2018 to 2028

Employment is projected to grow from 161.0 million to 169.4 million jobs from 2018 to 2028. Healthcare is expected to account for a large share of the new jobs projected through 2028. The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) reflects the 2018–28 projections.
